This is a healing place for the wonderful homeowner who gave me the resources to create this DreamScape water feature masterpiece!
We love creating natural, living ecosystems that everyone, including birds, insects, bees, butterflies and dragonflies need to interact with to survive. There is no chemical 'treatment' of the water, just beneficial bacteria to eat the algae.
Living water calms the soul, and eases the spirit. Just to be near our DreamScape water features is to be put in touch with that calm place inside that only nature can provide.
We used very rare black granite with white stripes on this DreamScape pond. It is dramatic and zen-like at the same time!
There is nothing like the way that water dances and ripples with light. The sound of tranquil waterfalls is soothing indeed.
This concrete reinforced stone bridge invites one to take the magical journey over the pond.
We sealed the existing concrete of this pond and then added the waterfall that you see, creating a wonderful ambiance for this part of the yard.
There is an amazing energy to this residence. I have to give credit to the homeowner for using his outdoor living space well. This Cabana is a great place to sit back, relax and let the water do the talking for a while...
There used to be a small, broken concrete and rock waterfall here for years, the produced little sound. We demolished it, sealed the concrete pond, installed a rubber liner for the waterfalls and overlapped it into the pond. Then we constructed this @5'5" tall waterfall and installed a new larger pump. The result is wonderful! The homeowner can easily control the amount of water flowing.
We constructed this waterfall perfectly so that people sitting in the cabana can experience the benefits of rushing water closely without it getting them wet. Can you see the water splashing little water bubbles into the air on the right side of the picture?
This is Trex 'wood'. Though we installed all of the fences for this property in 8' tall Redwood, the homeowner choose to go with a decking material that was more weather resistant and less maintenance than wood.
Having to cross over the 'drawbridge' looking entrance to the cabana makes it a magical experience every time one comes or leaves!
This is one of two water features that I have created where I was somehow able to get ahold of super rare black granite with white stripes. They were very dense and heavy to work with!
We created the pond to go under this edge of the deck so that one can dangle their feet in the water... This is a DreamScape come true!
The overhanging deck helps one to feel connected with the pond, because there is no barrier in between.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to come home and take a seat in your backyard with a view like this?
Having living nature to interact with in your own backyard is a powerful assistant in promoting health. Being near a water feature line this DreamScape Pond calms one down instantly. The more time one spends here, the more one begins to follow the movements of the Koi fish.
The fish have plenty of places to hide from view when they are feeling shy, or from predators. Pond fish have two main animals to be prepared for, raccoons and herons.
This waterfall is a decade old and it has held up wonderfully.
There are small low voltage lights skillfully hidden throughout the waterfalls and pond.
The pump for the water feature is hidden in what is called the 'skimmer' on the right hand side of the picture. It collects all the leaves and floating debris which can be lifted out and removed easily.
There is a special magic that has accumulated at that particular pond that pictures have a hard time conveying. There have been many incredibly talented rock stars, musicians & producers who have sat here and looked at this exact view.
No water feature is complete without some water plants to naturalize it. There are a wide variety of plants that can thrive directly in water. The plant in this picture is a decade old, and still looks great!
Having two different water features gives people two separate whole areas to enjoy, thus making the outdoor living space feel larger.
Ponds are living natural ecosystems. They thrive with plants playing an important part of maintaining water clarity and ph balance. Fish also help by eating algae.
This view invites everyone walking by to come sit and splashing their feet in the water a little bit. You can really feel close to the fish here too.
The fish can swim under the deck, or under the bridge, or by the house. Its so cool watching the little, medium and bigger fish swim around.
Everything is perfectly proportional in this small area, with nothing too big and nothing too small.
From sipping a warm cup of coffee in the cool winter mornings to having a cold glass of something refreshing in the summer evenings, this paradise is awesome!
This is a relatively small area, but it feels huge!
This small space is a perfect blend of natures wildness and the calm safety of the covered cabana. Water features can dramatically alter small spaces.
The curves of the pond are a perfect compliment to the straight lines of the cabana.
Ponds look quite big, but are usually only 2' deep. They are very safe.
This pond and waterfalls is beautiful to see, feel and hear from any angle, whether from across the yard, from the cabana or inside the house! That is not an accident. Extremely careful planning and designing goes into each DreamScape masterpiece.
Dancing, singing water, whether from a fountain or a stream, a trickle or a gushing waterfall transforms the energy of a space more than anything else. At night, they become another experience entirely when light makes the ripples reflect in and around the pond!
This yard, however small, feels huge. There are so many different places to go, and two places two cross over well lit water at night while partying! This is living the dream. This is a Dream Scape Come True...
