This @30' long pondless waterfall is called 'Cottonwood Meadows'. We took an ugly hill filled with ivy and turned it into the most beautiful part of this property!
This is what it looked like before we started the project. The palm tree in the middle of the picture was cut and we put a large hollow rock right on top of it. The stream flows around it to this day.
All surfaces of a water feature need to be cut either horizontally or vertically, so that the rocks won't fall down.
This is the pit at the bottom of the pondless waterfall. The water flows down the stream to the pump inside the 'snorkel' in the center of the picture. When the pondless water fall is turned off, the water fills this pit but doesn't overflow.
We used a combination of real stones and pre-cast concrete stones for this hill. There was no way to get big rocks on the hill, so we used hollow ones instead. You can see the concrete ones that are a little more brown in the picture.
Once the plants grew in, the waterfeature looked totally natural. The plants are drought tolerant and hardy. They change throughout the year, like nature.
Every rock is carefully place in a DreamScape water feature. All the plants beautifully naturalize the hill.
We used a roto tiller to mix in the organic soil amendment into this lawn. After this, we installed a completely new irrigation system.
We used 100% organic soil amendment in this lawn re-do. You can see the piles ready to be tilled in.
Here we are thoroughly preparing the soil for our new sod lawn.
This picture shows the fertilizer we sprinkled on the lawn area just before we rolled in the sod lawn.
This lawn is inviting the home owners to come out and enjoy their beautiful DreamScape yard.
We just tolled in the sod lawn in this picture. Sod lawns look great and perform well for decades, if the soil is prepared properly.
We install an entirely new irrigation system for this wonderful lawn. It works perfectly to this day.
We installed a brick pedestal for this beautiful water feature by the front door. L.E.D. lights were installed in the basin and each bowl of the fountain.
The entrance to the front door of this Encino property is taken to the next level by the sight and sounds of this spectacular fountain.
